food Indonesia Versi Rekomendasi Media AS,

US media As,  CNN once held a poll a few years ago about the most delicious food in the world. Rendang was then chosen as the most delicious food in the world by the site.

In 2017, the media reviewed the culinary variety of the vast Indonesian archipelago. Discussing food that deserves to be the center of attentio,

1. Sambal

Although technically more of a condiment, the chili-based sauce known as sambal is a staple on every Indonesian table. Therefore, Indonesians can be said to be “spicy-tolerant” because of the many types of sambal that vary and are certainly spicier than the chili sauces from other countries in general.

A meal feels incomplete without a spoonful of delicious sambal, a combination of chilies, tangy fermented shrimp paste, lime juice, sugar and salt that are pounded with a mortar and pestle.

Today, the average restaurant in Indonesia has made sambal a special attraction, with choices of young mango, mushrooms, and even durian.

2. Satay

This delicious meat satay is grilled over very hot coals. Be it chicken, rabbit or goat. The pieces of meat are skewered, then marinated in turmeric, grilled, then coated in a sweet peanut sauce.

Many countries now claim this satay dish, but Indonesians consider it a national dish that is often sold by street vendors and popularized by Arab traders in their time.

Usually, each vendor has their own unique taste, but “sate madura” – served with ketupat, cucumber and diced onions – is distinguished by its boat-shaped street cart.

Sate Ragusa serves legendary satay that dates back to the 1950s. This CNN-recommended restaurant also serves its signature spaghetti ice cream, the perfect dessert to wash down your mouth after a meal.

3. Meatballs

This savory meatball noodle soup gained international fame when US President Barack Obama recalled it as one of his favorite dishes during a visit to Jakarta.

These meatballs are made from chicken, beef, pork, or a combination of all, shaped into golf ball-sized balls, and have a soft, slightly chewy texture.

This dish is also often sold by street vendors, and is suitable for eating anytime and anywhere. With its relatively cheap price, these meatballs, which are served with fried shallots, boiled eggs, and dumplings, are very popular with office workers and students.

Now there are even “jumbo meatballs” that are made as big as one fat hand.

CNN’s reference comes from Bakso Lapangan Tembak Senayan, Jl. Gerbang Pemuda 1, Senayan, Jakarta.

4. Soto

This traditional beef soup consists of broth and ingredients that vary across the archipelago.

The version sold is usually a simple clear soup flavored with chicken, goat, or beef. But in Jakarta, home to the indigenous Betawi people, soto Betawi is usually served with a sweet and smooth coconut milk-based broth. It is topped with crunchy shallots, fried garlic, and chili sauce to taste.

5. Fried Rice

Already known to tourists, fried rice is considered the national dish of Indonesia. Rice fried with various spices and thick sweet soy sauce, is perfect when eaten with eggs and pickled cucumber vegetables as an accompaniment.

In addition to fried rice, visitors can also try crazy rice and see how many types of meat they find buried in the rice.
